I couldn't believe the Seattle people I saw in Hawaii. There was Anu (who attends the university I teach at), Dale Watanabe (from Seattle U), Brad & Kory Embry (I work with Brad), and of course, Kathy and Rob. I first met Kathy when we were both students at college. Her family welcomed me at every holiday and then some. We've stayed in touch off and on through the years. Last year I attended Kathy's wedding before she made the move to TX. So imagine how thrilled I was when I found out she was going to be in Hawaii at the same time.
