Wedding Bells Ring for Hector and Deborah

On Saturday, I attended a wedding for Deborah H. Deborah and her husband got married at the Kingdom Hall in Renton and then partied at the Pickering Barn in Issaquah. Lots of salsa, merengue, and cumbia. I met up with Kim D. and her family as well as the other folks from The School where I teach part time. A fun time...see below for the pics.

Do a Little Dance...

Little Jessica was dying to dance so she dragged her dad out on to the dance floor.

Baby Shower for Heidi

One of the highlights this past weekend was a baby shower for Heidi. She's due on 6/29, and is expecting a girl. The name is tentatively set with Sophia. Heidi is looking fantastic here. In attendance were Joy, Angie, Celeste, Gayle, Jeannie, and interestingly enough, Big Al. We dined on burritos and taquitos from Baja Fresh and lots of cake (see below). Congrats Heidi.

Oooohhh, Cake...

I ordered cake from Borracchini's in Seattle, but I was torn between the flavors. Chocolate cake with mocha filling, or a white cake? Hmmmm...what to do.

Another cake just in case...

This one is white cake with custard filling.

Presents...

and more presents.

Heirloom Quilt

Angie and Heidi look over the quilt which Heidi's mother had made. The quilt is made up of linen handkerchiefs from Heidi's grandmother.

Summer (School) Fun

Remember Summer Fun? Summer Fun in Hawaii was usually a day camp meant to keep kids entertained while their parents had to work. Well, here are some of my students doing some school work. In one of the classes, students had to teach each other something they were good at. The girl in front is Sarah, a dance teacher. Sarah led Bethany and Morgan through a short routine. Summer fun? Yeah, classes can be fun.

Happy Birthday Maggie!

Here's Maggie posing at her party, where she made out like a bandit. She just recently turned 5.

Nurses Pinning

Look at the smile on Eric's face!!!! Eric was one of the featured speakers at the Nurses Pinning at the University. His wife, next to him, just finished her teaching certificate. Heather, at the far right, finished her nursing degree at the University and is currently a nurse in the area.

Introducing the New Assistant Vice President

Here's a shot of my good friend, Rose, who is now an Assistant Vice President at the University. She certainly has paid her dues and this is well deserved.

I'm Baaaack....

Finally, I've found some time to update the blog. To my devoted readers (all four of you) I apologize for the absence. I've been a busy girl since the last posting. I participated in graduation (Lucretia S. won the pool), administered finals (most everyone passed), and am teaching in summer school (5 courses). Summer school is killing me. Man, what I won't do for money. Anyway, check out the pictures above.
