Post-Partum Blues

I never realized how consuming the dissertation was until now. What a difference in my outlook on life. At this point I never want to see the dissertation again...yet I know I'll return to it. Until then, I'm enjoying the thought of Thanksgiving sans research...no interviews to conduct, drafts to write, data to code, etc. etc. etc. It will be glorious to eat turkey, watch football, and sleep. I'll enjoy it...for now.

Indiana University of Pennsylvania

Indiana University of Pennsylvania is a state school in western Pennsylvania, about 90 minutes from Pittsburgh. Approximately 10,000 students attend this university. IUP offers several different doctoral degrees including psychology, education, and criminal justice...cool, huh?

The campus this time of the year is just stunning. See the pictures.

Punxsutawney Phil

Today I decided to do some sightseeing. My friend Susan and I drove to Punxsutawney to see Punxsutawney Phil (of Groundhog's Day fame). Here's Punxsutawney Phil.

Is there a doctor in the house?

Well...I've jumped through one of the last hoops. I passed the defense on 10/31/05. The first 15 minutes were a little rough but I loosened up. The chair and readers were friendly and it was a great discussion. They really put me at ease. There are some expected revisions, but after that, I'll be done. Then I'll be able to give physicals. Just kidding. I'm not that kind of a doctor.
