50 Golden Years
Auntie Ruth and Uncle Herbert celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary yesterday. The party was held at the Hale Koa Hotel with a guest list spanning decades. One of the highlights was being able to meet up with relatives and their families. This is especially so for Auntie Ruth & Uncle Herbert's sons, 3 of whom live outside of Hawaii. See the snapshots below for pics of cousins' kids.
This photo is a shot of Auntie and Uncle with the brothers and sisters (including brother and sisters-in-law) who attended.

My Trip to Greeley
I took a short trip last weekend to Greeley, Colorado where I got to meet up with the Moyas. Gabe and I attended the same church in Hawaii and then both graduated from the same university. Gabe and his family live out in Greeley, where Gabe is a Chi Alpha pastor at the University of Northern Colorado. Trish (Gabe's wife) is the Coordinator of the intensive ESL program at UNC. I got to spend time with Trish and learn more about what she does. It was a fantastic trip. While in Greeley, I got acquainted with the kids, Seth and Elise. I loved my time in Greeley, and it was way too short. Thanks Moyas.

The Pet Store
One of the highlights of my trip to Greeley was visiting a local pet store. This pet store kept the puppies in pens in the middle of the store, and customers were welcome to pick up a puppy and hold them. There were puppies of all kinds: husky, st. bernard, chihuahua, westhighland terrier, shiba-inu, bichon frise, pit bull, etc. What a way to get a puppy fix.

My summer is coming to an end
Wow...I have totally neglected this blog. My apologies to the three readers who check back. Now that the summer is over, I'm back in the office getting ready for classes. The highlight of my summer: waking up at 2:00 pm and not caring. I leave for Denver this weekend for 2 days, and then back to Hawaii for another 2 day trip. In Denver I'll be visiting an academic program at the University of Northern Colorado (go bears!). My short 2 day trip to Hawaii is in honor of my aunt and uncle's 50th wedding anniversary. I've decided that I'd much rather celebrate these happy moments with loved ones than attend their funerals. I'll be back to regulary blogging.
